80km a day takes its toll!
A record that stands at 13 days set by Vancouver Island resident Russell Henry.  To break this incredible record David and Joe had to average 80km per day. For the first 5 days and nights they did just this. Covering huge distances each day and starting as early as 2.30am to make best use of the tides.

After a blistering start the pair soon ran into unfavourable weather conditions, resulting in them losing precious time on the north coast of the Island. This hold up inevitably denied the pair of the record.  Returning to their starting point 14 days 21 hours and 51min after leaving, left them 2 days off the record but successful in competing the gruelling  attempt. Considering all other attempts at this record have failed to even finish, it is testament to how tough an expedition it really is.
